"small hands reach
for what we give them —
give them beauty."
Original art. Original poetry. Every garment hand-printed by the artist himself. Human DLX is a monthly clothing subscription for infants and toddlers, made by a grandfather who believes beauty changes children.
My grandkids call me Pops. It's my last name too — Uesugi — and somewhere between those two meanings, this brand was born.
I write every poem. I make every piece of art. And I print every garment myself, by hand, one at a time. There is no factory. There is no team. There is just me, the press, and the belief that what we put on our smallest humans matters.
I started Human DLX because I wanted my grandchildren — and every child — to grow up surrounded by real art and real words. Not licensed characters. Not brand logos. Art that asks something of them. Poetry that gives them a feeling before they have the language to name it.
Every edition is limited because I can only make so many. Every piece is numbered because each one is genuinely singular. When you subscribe, you're not ordering from a warehouse. You're receiving something I made.
Every edition begins with a poem, then art made in response to it. Pops pulls every print himself on organic cotton — 300 pieces, one press run, never repeated.
Subscribe by the 10th of the month to receive that edition. Your card is charged immediately. Subscribe after the 10th and you're in the following month's drop — no edition is ever skipped.
After the cutoff, Pops prints, numbers, and packs every box himself. Two tees, hoodie, fleece, patch, trading card, stickers, poem card, and signed certificate. This is not a warehouse.
Boxes ship in the first week of the following month — 3 to 4 weeks after the cutoff. Tracking sent when yours leaves the studio. Open it slowly. Read the poem aloud.
You enroll them in music. You take them to museums. You read to them every night. Human DLX is the wardrobe that reflects that intention — clothing made by an artist, for a child, with care that a factory cannot replicate.
When Pops prints a garment, he thinks about the child who will wear it. That is not a marketing line. It is simply what happens when one person makes something for another.
